Making Wine Company is a small new wine brand which blends together the best of Napa winegrowing with the authenticity of the Sierra Foothills.
Making Wine Company was founded in 2015 by a group of longtime friends. From pruning in the vineyards together as kids to making wine together as (alleged) adults, the four shared a passion for quality-driven vineyards and wines. The siren song of the Sierra Foothills drew the group together to found a wine venture - one that could draw on their experience in high-end wineries to realize the full potential of the appellation and all of the varietals that grow well in it.
The group is led by Winemaker David Marchesi. David has worked in high-end wineries the world over - most notably; d'Arenberg in McLaren Vale, Australia, Cakebread Cellars in Oakville and as Winemaker for Paraduxx Winery in Yountville. David's approach to winemaking is simple - work with the wines to allow them to gracefully show off their place and their varietal character. As a master at the blending table, Making Wine Company plays to his strengths and allows him to create wines of complexity, depth and elegance that showcase the Sierra Foothills appellation.

Our approach is to use our extensive experience and history in the region to gain access to the best fruit - both from vineyards we are involved with, as well as from other growers.
